Town Road Drum Site is a residential property in Springport, Jackson County, Michigan.  The site has been historically used as a dumping area for municipal trash as well as drums and other containers.  A former tenant of the site reported leaking drums to the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) in 2022.  EGLE confirmed the presence of leaking drums and other non-leaking containers.  EGLE referred the site to EPA in 2023.

On June 7, 2023, EPA conducted a Removal Site Evaluation that documented abandoned, leaking and unsecured drums and containers onsite. Analytical sample results have identified waste materials that are either characteristically ignitable or corrosive liquids.

EPA mobilized for the removal action on August 19, 2024 to characterize and dispose of the waste onsite.  EPA shipped all waste offsite for proper disposal and demobilized from the site on September 27, 2024.
