This Web site provides resources for water utilities, state and local governments, public health officials, emergency responders and planners, assistance and training providers, environmental professionals, researchers and engineers, and law enforcement, among others.

Acute Exposure Guideline Levels (AEGL)
Describes the dangers to humans resulting from short-term exposure to airborne chemicals. Guidelines are developed to help both federal and local authorities, as well as private companies, deal with emergencies involving spills, or other accidental exposures.

The Hazardous Waste Cleanup Information site, sponsored by EPA's Technology Innovation Office, provides extensive information about innovative treatment technologies and other resources for the hazardous waste cleanup community.

This site provides information on public health, disease, and data and statistics.

National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID)
This site, also part of the CDC, provides information on such topics as bioterrorism, preventing emerging infectious diseases, and research currently underway at CDC.

Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR)
This site contains information about hazardous substances. The Internet HazDat Database is located on this site and provides specific site and contaminant data.

 

National Toxicology Program (NTP)
The coordinated toxicology research and testing activities by the Secretary of Health and Human Services Department is used to provide information about potentially toxic chemicals to regulatory and research agencies and the public and to strengthen the science base in toxicology
