On June 30, 2025, a fire was discovered at Aevitas Specialty Services, an oil treatment and recycler located in Detroit, Michigan.  A significant amount of used oil and firefighting water topped the secondary containment and migrated into the road. EPA and the Detroit Fire Marshall Division are overseeing the cleanup.
